• O'Toole House
This palace was founded at the begining of the XX century and is one of the few examples of Venetian liberty style. It is separated from the church S. Maria della Salute only by a small river, which link the channel Canal Grande to the Giudecca Channel. This palace has been recently restored in the full respect of its original structures and has been equipped with all modern comforts.

Its location is really strategical. It is near one of the most beautiful Venetian churches : S. Maria della Salute. It is the masterpiece of the architect Baldassarre Longhena; its construction is dated 1681. Its position is very important, because it is located at the entrance of the Canal Grande (its staircase goes from the water till the church-square) and it is part of the town-quarter Punta della Dogana, place where once the goods coming from the sea went through custom clearance and which was the most important defence point against pirate attacs.

The house is located in the "Zattere" zone, a large walking area from Punta della Dogana to the Sea Station, where the biggest crusiers boats start their journeys. This promenade is well known to the Venetian and also to the turists, who can enjoy a nice walk or drink a coffee in the different bars along the way.
Starting from O'Toole House and crossing the Canal Grande, you will find S. Marco Place in the full town center. Our house is also near to the Guggenheim Museum. At ten minutes distance you arrive to the Accademia Bridge: this is a wood construction realized in the XIX century from the Austrian Government. Just in front you will find the Accademy Galery, in which it is gathered the most precious collection of Venetian paintings : from Giorgione to Tiziano, from Tintoretto to Tiepolo.

Continuing on this way you arrive in Santo Stefano Square with its bars and restaurants, an area loved both by inhabitants and turists, because of is originality and interests: in certain periods during the year you can visit there the antiquities market, the Book Fair, the August exhibition or the famous Palazzo Grassi, where you can visit the most prestigious international cultural manifestations. On the other side of the Giudecca Channel there is the S. Giorgio Island. There you can visit there the Giorgio Cini Foundation, a culture center for international congresses , a famous reference point for world known eminences.
